School Bus Lands In Community Garden After Crash With SUV In Maryland

A school bus crashed through a fence and into a community garden in Montgomery County, officials say.

Five people were injured in a collision involving an SUV and school bus before 8 a.m. on Monday, May 20, a Montgomery County Fire and EMS spokesperson said.

The crash was reported in the area of Fenton Street and Philadelphia Avenue in Silver Spring.

Following the crash, the bus wound up approximately 10 feet off the roadway into a nearby garden, damaging the fence, while the SUV landed in the median.

There were no students on the bus at the time.

Five adults were evaluated for various non-life-threatening injuries, and the garden had several plots wiped out by the bus.

The crash remains under investigation.
